Cachoeira
£9.00Country of origin: Brazil, Mogiana region, São Paulo State.
Coffee Varietal: Yellow Bourbon.
These coffee beans are from Brazil, specifically the Fazenda Cachoeira da Grama farm near São Sebastião da Grama, 250 kms north of São Paulo city (altitude 1,100–1,500 metres (5,250 – 6,000 feet) above sea level), climate: temperature high 27C – low 11C, rainfall yearly average 1,243mm, dry season June-Sept).
The coffee plantation: Fazenda Cachoeira da Grama has been in the Carvalho Dias family since 1890. The total farm area is 417 hectares, of which 64 hectares are for coffee cultivation on highly mountainous terrain. The farm has its own hydroelectric plant, and is run on a sustainable basis.
Coffee processing system: The coffee mill, near Poços de Caldas, uses a natural processing system – the coffee cherries are naturally sun dried, allowing the beans to be de-husked mechanically (processed naturally).
Tasting notes: Dark roast. Hazelnut and chocolate, single cream, hints of red apple and toffee at the finish.
